About The American Cigar Co.

The American Cigar Co. is an independent American cigar house focused on heritage-driven blends and the cultural traditions that shape them.

Our flagship line, Antebellum, is a 100% American puro inspired by the early-to-mid 1800s — a period when cigars emerged as symbols of American identity, industry, and camaraderie. Sourced from Connecticut Broadleaf, Pennsylvania Oscuro, and other domestic varietals, Antebellum honors American terroir and the artisanal labor behind it.

Exsul — Latin for "exile" — is our forthcoming luxury line, hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic from Cuban-seed tobaccos using the traditional entubado technique. Exsul pays tribute to journeys of displacement, resilience, and craft.

The company's founder, Sebastian Saviano, is also a writer on American cigar and bourbon culture. His books — including America's Cigar Story and Smoke & Oak — are published by The American Cigar Press and are available in the Library section of this site.
